Carl Laberge

Chair of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities and President and CEO of the Saguenay Port Authority

A civil engineer by training and an experienced manager, Carl Laberge has been President and CEO of the Port of Saguenay since 2015. With over 25 years of experience in engineering, management and project development, Carl Laberge is known for his leadership and development vision that have greatly influenced the growth and strategic positioning of the Saguenay Port Authority in recent years.

He has a fine knowledge of the maritime sector, in addition to having previously evolved at the heart of construction projects affecting the energy and industrial sectors. Before joining the Port of Saguenay team, he worked successively as an engineer and project manager for a major construction engineering firm.

Carl Laberge holds a master’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in business administration. Involved in his region, he chaired the Saguenay-Le Fjord Chamber of Commerce and Industry between 2019 and 2021. He is also very involved in the marine industry. He chaired the Canadian delegation of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA). He is currently President of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities (ACPA) and serves on several boards of directors, including the St. Lawrence Economic Development Corporation (SODES).
