A visionary and mobilizer, Mario Girard has extensive business development experience at national and international levels. Since 2011, he has been President and CEO of the Québec Port Authority (QPA). Under his leadership, the Port of Québec has adopted a vision for the future based on sustainable development, a global approach that shapes both the Port's day-to-day operations and its major projects. In addition to chairing the Board of Directors of the Société de développement économique du Saint-Laurent (SODES), Mr. Girard is ex-chair of board of directors of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities (ACPA) and vice-president of Association internationale Villes-Ports (AIVP). Highly involved in several committees, he works for harmonious city-port cohabitation to maximize the economic, social and cultural benefits of ports in urban environments.
