Sharon Spicer

Director General of Travellers Operational Guidance and Support at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA)

Sharon Spicer is the Director General of Travellers Operational Guidance and Support at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Sharon has had a varied career occupying a number of diverse roles within the both the Canada Border Services Agency and Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Prior to taking on her current position she was the Director General responsible for the Covid-19 task force at the CBSA.

Prior to this Sharon held a number of executive positions at the CBSA including Director of the Inland Enforcement and Case Management Division and Director of the Program Compliance and Outreach Division.

Sharon was the Manager responsible for Preclearance, Inland Enforcement and Policy development at various times in her career.

Sharon served as the CBSA Liaison Officer in Accra Ghana from 2012-2014. In this capacity she was responsible for protecting the integrity and security of the Canadian border through a range of activities in support of the CBSA's mandate.

Sharon started her career as an immigration officer at the Port of Entry in Southern Ontario. During her time in the region she worked in a number officer positions including Border Services Officer, Inland Enforcement Officer and Hearings Officer.

Sharon holds a Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree – Criminology and Sociology (minor Psychology) from the University of Windsor. She is married and has two children.
